Darwin for a long weekend!

Wow, it's cold and foggy in Sydney this morning. The only thing keeping me moving is the prospect of being warm, really warm for the next few days.

Yes, Greg and I are off on another adventure this time we are venturing to the Northern Territory for the first time, to gain a taste of what we expect to be a long relationship with the far north of our beautiful country. Now some of you may be thinking....that's a long way for a short stay, but putting some perspective around this, after the enormous win our sharkies delivered on Monday night against the comp leaders south Sydney rabbits, they deserve a break this weekend. The next game of interest will be our beloved blues playing state of origin next Wednesday night and we need to be back for that - do they play footy in NT? Therefore we only have a short window of opportunity to get there and back and pack in as much as possible.

It will be a short, very short long weekend where we will partake in a 3 day 4 wheel drive safari of Litchfield National Park and Kakadu. Now the weather up there has been a steady 32 degrees, however, it has been quite wet over the last week or so. The rain appears to have ceased and hopefully will not start again till next week.

All this rain could mean different things, the positive ones for us mean that the waterfalls will all be running at capacity, but hopefully the roads will be passable. Fingers crossed that we get to see everything and we will post some amazing photos along the way.

Once we get back to Darwin , we have a full day and a bit to wander around a night at a 4 star hotel and dinner on a Harbour cruise then it's to a bar for a few cold bevvies before making our way to the airport for the late night flight back to Sydney. Yep it's like the jetstar Bali flight! A red eye.

I have been told by an ex local to go to Mindle Beach markets on Sunday night so this is where we will probably end up.

Stay tuned for updates along the way, I need the practice for next years big trip! ( of course this is totally defendant on wifi accessibility!)
