Around the town

We decided to walk across the Galata Bridge and climb the Galata Tower today. On the way to town we drove through the 7th century Roman built aquaduct.

I have posted photos from the bridge in earlier posts so will skip to the tower shots. The tower is on the Asian side of the Bosphorous river.

Walking up the hilly streets to the tower. That gold bit is the top of the tower.

Views from the top.

Once we were back down we decided to find our way back to the bridge and have a well deserved beer.

Looking back at the tower on the way down.

Under the road level on the bridge, there are many very nice restaurants. We stopped for a beer as it was happy hour, then decided to have some meze before we went to a planned restaurant for dinner.

After all this we thought maybe just some Turkish baklava

And what happened on the way to get dessert!

No baklava for me today!

  2. This is a test. By the way the camers you spotted in the previous blog could well replace the South Mahonga camera.
