The Greeks have got it right, this area is awesome!
Yet again David you would be in heaven!
First up Mykonos, beautiful place, gorgeous little streets and buildings tried to get a bit arty with some of my shots... Fail or not you tell me
I am writing this issue from a little cafe in the back street of katakolon on the island of Olympia.
Free wifi and.cheap beer that comes with a little meze plate all for 3 euro each!
Little venice
We had a full day in Mykonos and had a ball. Wandered around on our own due to canceling our boat excursions, story behind that being all spanish no English hahaha. But we managed well and in the end saw all the tourist things then found a beach and laid in the sun and had swims in the Mediterranean.
Another day finds us in santorini, which is not a town its the whole bunch of little islands! Fira is the name of the old port, the one you see in all the photos.
We went off on our own, found 3 guys from Melbourne and climbed a volcano, an active one.
The volcano was a hard trek but the view was well worth it. Once back down we took off for the hot springs, bugger that! we just swam in the sea to cool down, I have never sweated rivers before!
Lunch time and we move to Thassiss, that had 200 steps to the top which is apparently a very nice lookout, we stayed at the bottom and ate bbqd seafood including octopus and drank beer!
Then it was on to the romantic island for honeymooners Ios pronounced ia. We stayed on the boat.
My verdict is Mykonos is by far the better choice.
