Helicopter over paradise

Oki doki...here we are, ready to go...we have our life jackets that are simply impossible to use should we be called upon to open them in the best of circumstances, let alone if we go crashing into Pipeline in forty foot surf..I can say that now we are back on solid land...I know how this ends.

Our hotel and 'that' tropic port! Did I mention this really is Surfers Paradise on steroids...

Then again, around the corner it is beautiful, breathtaking, impossible to reach.

Old airfields form various wars now in disrepair

Majestic harbors and lakes with countless coral reefs

The only resort on the North Shore.....surfing is one of their activities!

The North Shore...when we drove around to here, it was about four foot. Today is another small day,,twenty foot swells!

Weimea Bay

Bonsai Pipeline

The North Shore stretches for some miles, some even more dangerous and unapproachable then Pipeline, Sunset or Weimea Bay. But so aaawsuuuuuume!

Chinook anyone?

We got a Blackhawk down, we got a Blackhawk down....

Pearl Harbour approach

The memorial to the USS Arisona

And back to the airport. All in all what a fabulous way to spend an hour. This is a must do for anyone who is coming over.

Next activity - climbing a volcano......stay tuned!
