On our way, in the air

So I'm writing this because sleep eludes me, I always threaten to take a sleeping pill just one you know, but I never seem to get around to it. By now it's probably too late for this flight we have 4 hours behind us and about the same plus a bit ahead.

Oh we'll suffer I shall! Let me tell you about our trip so far. We had a generous offer off a lift to the airport from Steve, which we were happy to oblige him, he readily accepted our bribe of a few olives and some stuffed peppers to have with his bottle tonight. The remainder of these nibbles were safely tucked away in our insulated bag for the flight. Also in the bag were 2 trays of various pieces of sushi for gluten intolerant husband a couple of turkey rolls, a tray of cheese, blue and Brie, various chocolate morsels and yoghurt covered sultanas., oh and the obligatory twisties.. You see Greg gets bored. I had purchased him an electronic tablet, specifically for this trip, I loaded 2 16gb usbs with movies, tv series and music videos. Along with a couple of games. All this eating, watching and playing should keep him occupied for a while.

It's 10.30 Sydney time we have crossed the international date line, I always picture a wide dotted line across floating over the swell of the sea and scaring the landscape of the islands that get in the way when I think of that. Go figure.

Oh a bit of turbulence then, that's the second time tonight, i could blame the turbulence for the red wine stain on my top, the wall and window shutter, my new cloth bag and the reason I'm sitting here in damp pants that distinctly smell of a reasonably tasty cab Sauvignon. But I won't blame the turbulence just my own clumsiness!

Crying toddlers, damp pants, fidgety passengers, turbulence and elusive sleep, it sounds worse than it is, but I can complete this tale later. Surprisingly the flight is not full by half, which begs the question why the other two couples could not get a seat on this flight and had to wait till tomorrow. Maybe there would have been too many important people in the air at once.

39,000 feet and 4 1/2 hrs to go!

Not happy jan, über disappointed that I didn't get lai'd on arrival

We're here this is the view from our lanai (balcony)

I think I've created a monster, Greg sitting on the bed on his tablet . Facebook of course !
